The Story & Process
The team at Association of Banks Singapore wanted to create a series of animated videos to educate the public about the types of scams targeting Singapore population. The series were needed for social media distribution.
We started by researching each type of scam to understand how they actually work. We studied how the scams typically start and common manipulation tactics used by scammers.
Storyboard Sketches
Our team created hand-drawn sketches to visualize each scene of the animation. We kept the tone clear and direct by using scenarios people might face every day. The sketches highlighted moments of tension, warning signs and Canny’s intervention.
Digital Storyboard
After our sketches were approved, we turned our sketches into clean digital boards. Our team followed ABS’s style references carefully including colors, typefaces and the chameleon character design.
Animation Production
We used 2D vector-style animation with smooth, snappy transitions and some shape transformation effects. Canny the Chameleon appeared in each video to deliver the key message: “Stop. Check. Don’t Click Yet.”
As per our client request, we kept the animations cartoonish and friendly to reach a wide audience. Even the scam characters were designed to be memorable but not scary. This helped deliver serious messages in a non-threatening way.
Outcome
The series helped ABS simplify scam education and educate. It was published across social platforms and used in public awareness events.
